Beaumaris (Angelsey)
Seaside town with pier, cute shops and a 13th-century castle.
20-minute car/taxi ride or 45-minutes by bus (or 2 hour walk along the Coastal Path)
Conwy
Cute town with good shopping, pubs and restaurants, with great views from the 13th-century castle.
18-minute train from Bangor Station
Caernarfon
Large water-side town with lots to do, dominated by a 13th-century castle, famous (and controversial) for the site of the Prince of Wales' investiture.
30 minutes by bus
Beddgelert (Snowdonia)
Small yet beautiful town nestled in mountains with good ice cream and pizza
1 hour 20 by bus or 45-minute drive
Betws-y-Coed (Snowdonia)
One of the most popular towns in Snowdonia and a base for hiking but also some easy, sheep-filled walks.
1-hour bus (if you get the right one) or 40-minute drive
